How to Use Playlists On This Blog

A lot of heart goes into my playlists because I live and breathe music. I love it so much that I have to share it with you. You may have already found that for each playlist posted, the titles and artists are spelled out. With any music app of your choice, you can manually search, preview, and save the songs that you like. However, if you have an Apple Music or Spotify account, it is incredibly simple! All you do is follow the corresponding link for each post. In my opinion, Apple Music is the best way to enjoy playlists. For more info, see My Apple Music Guide.

For Apple Music Users

The Apple Music link will open the corresponding playlist in iTunes or the iOS Music app. If you want to add any songs to your own library of playlists, simply hover over the title, click on the three dots to its right, then select where you want to add the song. Clicking on “Show in iTunes Store” in the same menu will let you purchase the song and make it more accessible offline.

You can continue to access the playlist from iTunes under the “Apple Music Playlists” group with the “Playlists” tab selected. Be sure to refresh the playlist over time as I love to add new content. You can also choose to remove it from your library altogether.

For Spotify Users

You can see my entire Spotify channel, or open a specific playlist in the Spotify Web Player or mobile app. Just like iTunes, you can add songs to your Spotify playlists by opening the menu from the three dots.

Spotify is superior for discovering new music, but compared with Apple Music, it is limited when it comes to managing your library. If you are a music lover though, Spotify is a must. Its playlists are second to none, probably because Spotify works with experts who have PhD’s in music psychology.

Be Inspired to Customize Your Own Playlists

Sometimes you will come across the perfect playlist and all you need to do is save it for playback. However, many playlists need to be modified and tailored to fit your needs. There may be songs that you’re not able to connect with, or your library may contain songs that you feel are missing from a playlist.

Good playlists come from listening to a wide range of music. Your musical horizon will expand the more you wander off the path and explore. The possibilities are endless. Discover a new SiriusXM channel. Create a new Pandora station using an unfamiliar but intriguing artist. Try different music streaming services like Digitally Imported, Rhapsody, and Live365. I personally love perusing playlists created by other people. My favorites include playlists from Spotify and Amazon Prime.

As you discover newly released music and relive timeless songs from the past, you’ll continue to add to your playlists. Adding fresh music makes listening even more enjoyable. When a song attracts you, save it. It doesn’t matter if you think no one else will want to hear it. If you don’t know the title or artist, Shazam it. Take notes and screen shots, or do whatever you need to save a song. Later on you will figure out a playlist it belongs in. Don’t ever be afraid of having too many playlists. Have fun customizing your own playlists and even more fun experiencing music from artists who bless our world.
